About the Workshop:

This 60-minute session will provide an overview of current psychology licensure and regulatory practices in Alabama, including scope of practice, supervision, recordkeeping, interstate practice through PSYPACT, and professional wills. The presentaiton will also address national developments affecting psychology regulation and consider how Alabama fits within the broader compliance, continuity of care, and responsible interstate service delivery.


Learning Objectives:

At the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe Alabama’s psychology licensure framework, including regulatory authority, scope of practice, supervision, recordkeeping responsibilites, and pathways to practice.
  • Explain the basic requirements and practice considerations associated with PSYPACT and interstate telepsychology and temporary in-person practice.
  • Discuss the purpose and essential elements of a professional will in supporting continuity of care during incapacity, emergencies, or practice closure.

About the Speaker:

Lori Rall has served as Executive Director of the Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology since 2011. She is recognized for her collaborative leadership in psychology regulation and licensure, working to advance public protection, ethical practice, and regulatory excellence throughout Alabama. Nationally, Lori serves as Alabama's PSYPACT Commissioner and Vice-Chair of the PSYPACT Executive Board, where she also chairs the Training and Public Relations Committee. She currently serves as Chair of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards Board Administrators and Registrars Committee and has contributed to numerous national initiatives focused on disciplinary issues, long-range planning, and master's-level psychology practice. A frequent presenter at state and national conferences, Lori is passionate about modernizing psychology regulation, strengthening interstate licensure, promoting ethical and competent practice, and fostering collaboration among regulatory boards and professional organizations. In recognition of her contributions to psychology regulation and public service, Lori received the 2025 Ming Fisher Award from ASPPB and the Alabama Psychological Association's Distinguished Legislative Achievement Award. Lori is a graduate of the University of West Alabama and recently completed the Certified Public Manager® Program through Auburn University at Montgomery. Her work through the program has focused on public education, helping Alabamians better understand licensed mental health professions, and developing strategies to address cybercrime and AI-driven fraud through collaboration and consumer education.
