Thank you for your interest in working with the Alabama Psychological Association to provide high quality continuing education for psychologists.  

The Alabama Psychological Association (aPA) is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  We are also recognized by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology as a provider of continuing education programs for psychologists.  Programs sponsored or jointly sponsored by the Alabama Psychological Association (aPA) allow participants to earn CE credits under the mandatory state CE requirements.  NBCC Credit is not available for Joint Sponsorship Workshops/Programs.

 We are glad to jointly sponsor workshops and seminars with not-for-profit professional, educational, scientific, and/or clinical organizations.  We do not jointly sponsor programs designed to promote products and services.  We look forward to working with your organization.  Because we meet the guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA) in sponsoring continuing education activities, any events we cosponsor must meet these same guidelines.  While we do not anticipate any difficulty, we do reserve the right to choose not to sponsor a program if it is determined that it would be inconsistent with any of the standards required for continuing education credit for psychologists.

Please follow these steps in submitting your request for joint sponsorship.  If you would like to discuss a proposed workshop or seminar prior to entering into a Joint Sponsorship agreement, contact the Alabama Psychological Association (aPA) CE Chair, Brittany Randolph, Ph.D. at botruba@uabmc.edu.

Step 1.  Review the Joint Sponsorship Agreement carefully.  It outlines the terms under which the Alabama Psychological Association (aPA) jointly sponsors continuing education programs, and the responsibilities of the Alabama Psychological Association (aPA) and the other sponsoring organization.  At least three months prior to the date of the CE program, sign and return the form.  Once the form has been received, you will receive an invoice via email.  Payment is due immediately upon receipt.

Step 2.  Complete the Workshop-Presenter Information Form and email to botruba@uabmc.edu and  info@alapsych.org.   Please note that a full copy of the presenter’s Vita is needed and may be emailed to the same address.

Step 3.  Submit a draft of the brochure or mailing to be used in promoting the program to botruba@uabmc.edu & info@alapsych.org.   The information and wording required for the promotional material is outlined in the Joint Sponsorship Agreement.  The Alabama Psychological Association (aPA) must co-author, review, and edit this information before the materials are printed and mailed.
