Workshop Description: This keynote presentation will explore the criticality of embedding equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) into your association's core strategy using APA's EDI framework. Highlighting the significance of advocacy in leadership, the session will demonstrate how psychologists can lead systemic change, enhance representation and foster a culture of equity and inclusivity. The presentation will conclude with an interactive discussion on navigating the current socio-political landscape while championing EDI principles.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this workshop:
- Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to embed EDI into the fabric of their association's strategy using APA's EDI framework as a guide.
- Participants will explore effective leadership strategies that promote inclusivity and diversity
- Participants will be able to serve as EDI champions while navigating the current socio-political landscape.

Workshop Description:
This workshop will provide an overview of challenges with accessing maternal mental healthcare in Alabama, with a particular focus on discrepancies in rural areas. Ways that aPA psychologists can promote access will be discussed, as well as local, state, and federal targets for advocacy.
